Mark Seymour is a senior lecturer in history at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. He holds degrees from the University of Sydney and the University of Connecticut. He published Debating Divorce in Italy: Marriage and the Making of Modern Italians, 1860-1974, with Palgrave in 2006. Since then he has published articles in Social History, Gender and History, Modern Italy, the Journal of Modern Italian Studies, Rethinking History, and the Italian journals Genesis and Storicamente. He co-edited (with Penelope Morris and Francesco Ricatti) Politica ed emozioni nella storia d’Italia dal 1848 ad oggi (Rome, Viella, 2012), and, with Penelope Morris, is co-editor of Modern Italy.
