Karen Bertorelli is a third year PhD student in Contemporary History at the University of Pisa.
She is a cultural historian interested in Italian nationalism, migrations and citizenship. She is currently studying the Ministry for Italians in the World held by Mirko Tremaglia between 2001 and 2006.
Her research project is focused on the nationalist wave occurred in Italy after Tangentopoli, at the beginning of the so called Second Republic and during the Ciampi presidency, also engaging people of Italian descent living abroad.
